Plumpton mill sits on the watercourse known as the Plumpton Mill Stream which is spring fed and runs into the Bevern Stream and forms a tributary of the river Ouse. In 2007 Carole and Paul Nicholson restored it to a usable, working mill, capable of providing flour for consumption. Together they have milled organic grains regularly over recent years but in 2020, the impact of Covid 19 brought the demand for flour to the fore and they have been pleased to be able to provide organic stoneground flour to the community, milling several times a week.
